Chiang Khong, The Kawi Sabai, (AKA The Farm) then and now 2007-2005
We started this project June 2005 and finished October 2006. And today (22 Feb. 2007) I got busy and took some photos and then put them together with ones taken back when we first started. The property is 650 meters by 150 meters deep with a small lane on one side and a small stream on the other. The Mekong river is 300 meters away with the mountians of Laos in the background. We cut down over 180 trees and then planted over 200 new one. There are over 20 species of fruit trees. Too many varieties of flowering plants, shrubs and trees, plus many types of veggies, spices and herbs. Plus fish in the Big fish pond.
Building design was a 5 minute job on scratch paper on then getting some local carpenters the next day to start work. Everything was kinda like build and design as we go...
We hope you enjoy!
Cheers David and Mai
